This is a blog authored by, me: Chris Budde.
Born in Weisbaden, Germany, my parents were both Airforce. I grew up in Wabasha, MN. (Yes, the home of Grumpy Old Men); Around the age 5, we then moved up to Lakeville, MN where I spent all of my youth. At the ripe age of 22, and after 3 years on unprogressive college, I enlisted in the US Navy. I served for 4 years during the days of 9/11 onboard the aircraft carrier, USS John F. Kennedy(CV-67).
I am married and have 2 boys. When I’m not working in the office, or writing content here, I spend time working on DIY projects around the house and yard, playing with my 2 boys, enjoying the company of my wife, and playing video games on either my PC or PS3.
I am also the owner/administrator of the military veterans community usmilitarygamers.com. It is a community centered around veterans for veterans, utilizing online gaming as a medium. We create and cultivate a culture of openness, and communication, and to give social outlet to issues that veterans face that many people have no concept of understanding.
I am currently working as a Sr. Systems Engineer at Northern Tool + Equipment.
I have been working in IT for 19+ years, with extensive experience in Microsoft Windows, VMWare, Hyper-V, Backups and Business Continuity with a sprinkling of Website Development. (PHP, MySQL).
I am learning to love Hyper-V, but that love is youthful, and innocent, where my love of VMware, is more mature and passionate. I have recently acquired a new interest in Nutanix. I am really starting to drink the “hyper-converged” kool-aid, so keep an eye open for more posts on those technologies in the future. Surprisingly enough, I am NOT a proclaimed “Linux Guy”. My roots, are deeply set with Windows, and have extensive experience dating back to NT4.0.
I love troubleshooting challenging issues and technology in general. I am passionate about all technology, but I hold a special place in my heart for virtualization, and I consider it my bread and butter in terms of “stuff” I am intimately passionate about.
Any of my views, ramblings, or opinions expressed here are strictly my own. (I’d love to blame someone else, but alas…)
While I am a hobbyist blogger who happens to work, blogging is not my job; it’s my personal hobby. As this is a personal blog, not a corporate blog, I AM solely responsible for all content published here, when I feel inclined to post it..
What that means: I cannot guarantee with any reliable frequency when I will post content, or speculate what I will post about. I post content when something seems interesting to me, and when I have time to compose some words around a few screen snaps. Not before.
While I do occasionally post something interesting, I am NOT a professional writer, and while I do my best to use spell-check, I will admit, I am most-likely prone to more-than-an-occasional spelling/grammatical error, and I further admit, YOU WILL come across occasional typo’s, bad grammar, poor syntax, wording, sentence structure, etc..
If you happen to stumble upon such a grievous flaw, please accept my humble apology; second, I then encourage you to email me using the contact page, and I will do my best to correct said discrepancy as soon as I’m able..
Content I publish here is not read, reviewed, or approved in advance by my employer and does not necessarily represent or reflect the views or opinions of my employer or any of its divisions, employees, subsidiaries, business partners, or other technical bloggers, vloggers, floggers, etc. etc.. etc… out on the vast internet today.
